The Soup Nazi, or Soupman, character so often seen on the popular TV show Seinfeld was a permanent fixture in the pop-culture of the ‘90s and in most cases remains in the public’s lexicon today. The ever-quotable words “No soup for you!” are recognizable today as the popular reprimand that the Soup Nazi used when somebody broke the petty, frustrating rules that governed his soup line. In Seinfeld, the Soup Nazi made the best soup in New York City, some say the world. It appears that the Soup Nazi is not a wholly fictional character.
He was apparently based on an entrepreneur named Al Yeganah. He founded Soup Kitchen International and has, since then, been creating the world's best soups. Since 1984, the Soup Kitchen International soups have become the accepted standard for what constitutes a world-famous soup. Now there is an original Soupman restaurant, inspired by Al Yeganah himself, in the Twin Cities.
The Original Soupman restaurant in Mpls brings to the table all the same proven ingredients, wonderful services, and delicious soups. The same brilliant tastes have been carried over from Soup Kitchen International in New York City to the Original Soupman in Minneapolis. Using these time-honored recipes and showcasing a commitment to customer service (not at all like the Soup Nazi pictured in Seinfeld), the Mpls Original Soupman will satisfy the needs of soup-lovers in the Twin Cities.
